Despite being held to a 2-2 drawn by Aalborg BK at Old Trafford, Manchester United finished top of Group E. They also equalled the record for the most games unbeaten of nineteen. Full credit must go to Aalborg, who it must be said, looked as though they were going to be in for a torrid evening after a Carlos Tevez goal after only three minutes.
