Málaga vs. Valencia

Valencia striker David Villa was denied by the post in the third minute, and he had a shot saved nicely by Gustavo Munúa just two minutes later as Los Che came out all guns blazing at La Rosaleda.

Valencia controlled possession, but the chances were few and far between after the early spell of pressure, and it was 0-0 at the break.

It was Valencia goalkeeper César who had to be alert in the 48th minute to keep Welligton out of the net, but the post saved the home side again two minutes later as David Silva hit the woodwork for Valencia.

The visitors finally took the lead on 69 minutes when Navarro put his head to a Pablo Hernández cross, leaving Munúa with no chance.

Victor Obinna did all he could to get Málaga an equalizer, but he was twice denied by César in the final 10 minutes to preserve the win for Valencia.
